heat pump in listed building

Heat pumps - an ideal, low impact solution for listed buildings

Microgeneration's registered office is at Maker Heights just over the Tamar in Cornwall and is a Grade II listed building, owned and managed by the Rame Conservation Trust. There are a number of buildings on the site and Microgeneration occupies the recently-refurbished Guard House. As the building was constructed using traditional materials, a sensitive heating solution was required.

Microgeneration decided that an air source heat pump would be the omtimum solution and installed a 4.7kW Thermaltricity® air source heat pump, which delivers hot water at 55°C through lightweight radiators.

A logburner provides back up heat on the coldest days.
